As another year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the creative journey I embarked upon in 2023. It’s been a year filled with inspiration, challenges, and invaluable lessons that have shaped me both as an artist and as an individual. I thought this would be a good opportunity to review my learnings and set some creativity goals for next year.
What I Learned in 2023
- Embracing Nature’s Palette: One of the most profound lessons I learned was the endless inspiration that nature provides. From the delicate hues of a flower to the intricate patterns found in leaves, nature has been my ultimate muse. This realisation has not only enriched my artistic creations but also deepened my appreciation for the world around me.
- The Joy of Continuous Learning: Throughout the year, I’ve embraced the joy of continuous learning, exploring new techniques, and refining my skills. Each project, whether successful or challenging, has been a stepping stone toward honing my craft and pushing the boundaries of my creativity.
- Embracing Imperfection: In my pursuit of creativity, I’ve come to embrace imperfection as a beautiful aspect of the artistic process. Rather than striving for flawless perfection, I’ve learned to appreciate the unique character and charm that imperfections bring to my creations.
- Refreshing Perspectives: Stepping away from one creative medium to explore another proved to be invigorating and eye-opening. This shift allowed me to gain fresh perspectives, recharge my creative energy, and discover new inspirations that fuelled my passion for artistry.
After taking a break from crochet for many months, I felt inspired to work on my Hens and Wedding dress. Whilst working on these, I also took mini breaks and explored other creative mediums to keep me inspired.
My Creativity Goals for 2024

Through these initiatives, I hope to foster a community of passionate creatives who support and uplift one another.
Celebrate Nature’s Beauty: Building on my inspiration from nature, I aim to create a series of artworks using different mediums that celebrate the beauty and wonder of the natural world. I’m excited to delve deeper into nature’s boundless creativity.
